UPDATE ON SHAWN ❤️🙏
I haven’t shared many details about what happened to Shawn. I’ve only said that he was in the hospital, but now that things are a little more stable, I wanted to give everyone an update.
Shawn was at work blowing insulation in an attic when the entrance leading up to the attic gave way. He fell approximately 9 feet and landed on concrete.
The injuries were serious.
He has multiple bleeds in three areas of his brain, three fractures in his spine, and three fractures in his pelvic area.
The first 24 hours were scary. Surgery was discussed more than once, and there were so many unknowns.
But y’all… GOD IS STILL WORKING MIRACLES. 🙌
His follow-up CT showed that the bleeding has stopped. The clots are still there and there is still swelling, but everything is stable.
And Shawn is awake. He can talk. He can walk.
He hurts. His head is pounding. We know there is a long, hard road of healing and recovery ahead of him.
But he is ALIVE. ❤️
And right now, I am praising God for that with everything in me.
Please continue to pray for Shawn—for complete healing, for the swelling to continue to go down, for his pain to ease, for no setbacks or complications, and especially for his spirit to be lifted as he faces the recovery ahead.
I also want to thank everyone who has called, texted, messaged, checked on us, and prayed. Every single prayer means more than I can put into words.
As far as Classy and Sassy Vintage Boutique, please bear with us for a little while. Store hours may vary some. Between me and the girls, we can only do so much, especially with school back in session. Family has to come first right now, and I know y’all will understand. ❤️
And for everyone who reached out about the job opening—I have not hired anyone yet. Interviews were supposed to begin the day after Shawn’s accident, and obviously those plans had to be put on hold. I haven’t forgotten about you, and I will get back to the hiring process as soon as I can.
Thank you all for the love, grace, understanding, and most of all, the prayers.
We have a long road ahead of us, but today I’m choosing to focus on this:
God heard our prayers.
The bleeding has stopped.
No surgery is needed.
He is awake.
He is talking.
He is walking.
And he is still here. 🙌❤️
God is still in the miracle-working business.
Please keep praying. 🙏
