A prison in Brazil replaced traditional guard dogs with geese—and it turned out to be shockingly effective.
According to prison officials, guard dogs:
Require extensive training
Can be bribed or distracted
Need constant care and attention
Are expensive to maintain

Geese, on the other hand?
Come preloaded with rage
Are fiercely territorial
Are alert 24/7
Make an ungodly amount of noise when threatened

The geese are stationed along the outer perimeter of the prison. If anyone enters their territory, the geese lose their minds—honking, flapping, charging—and immediately alert human guards.

Since switching to geese, the prison reportedly has not had a successful escape.

And It’s Not Just Brazil

There have also been reported cases in China where large groups of geese were used for patrol and security in rural or border regions. The logic is the same:

They’re cheap
Impossible to sneak past
And absolutely ungovernable

The Takeaway:

Geese can’t be trained.
They can’t be bribed.
They don’t care about your plan.
They wake up every day and choose violence.

Honestly?
Nature’s most underrated security system and I think I need two or three. 🤣

We celebrated our sweet baby this weekend, and I’m still trying to take it all in. It’s wild how eye-opening it can be to see who shows up, helps, and makes time, it really means more than I can say.

I put a lot into the baby shower, the food, the setup, all the little details and seeing it all come together made it worth every bit of chaos. I’ll share some of the recipes soon (because the favors, cherry walnut bars, cookie cake, and Oreo fluff deserve their moment 😅).

For now, just feeling thankful for the people who showed up, the love that filled the room, and the reminder that the right ones always make space for you. 💕
