Halloween is over, and we're transitioning from scary to merry here on the farm.

We'll see you later this month. 🎄✨

You knew him by the brilliant red suit, the big joyous “Ho, ho, ho,” the piercing blue eyes that looked into each child’s eyes and made them feel special, and the informal title of the “Best Santa in Wichita.” All of those things are absolutely true. But here, he was so much more.

At a place where your friends become your colleagues and your colleagues become your friends, we find that your work friends often become your family. And that’s how it was with Greg. He was a BIG part of the Prairie Pines family.

Behind the scenes, Greg was a go-to person for the creativity of a new idea, enthusiasm for a new project, ingenuity for solving dilemmas, and the one you could always count on to just be there. Today, everywhere we look, we see the indelible mark he left on our farm.

You might have heard the pride in our voice when saying “Santa’s here,” “the guy with the green wig can help,” or “our friend, the lavender farmer.” But that was just the small part you could see. The loss of Greg Lohkamp leaves an enormous space in our farm family and in our hearts. Please join us in celebrating the life of a great man who touched so many lives.

Our 3rd Lavender season is in the books! This week we harvested the remaining lavender and we needed a little purple pick me up. These favorite shots from our 2026 season did the trick! We look forward to the beauty of another year's growth and sharing more lavender love in 2027.

Yesterday we welcomed our final guests of Lavender Daze 2026, and our hearts are incredibly full.

Over the past four weekends, thousands of footsteps wandered our garden paths. Countless bouquets went home to brighten kitchen tables. Friends gathered over lavender lemonade. Children laughed through the fields. Musicians filled the farm with beautiful music. And so many of you chose Prairie Pines to make memories together.

To everyone who visited, shared a post, invited a friend, volunteered, performed, or simply cheered us on—thank you.

Now the work begins as we harvest the remaining blooms and start dreaming about everything we want to create for next season.

We hope that whenever you catch the scent of lavender, you'll think of a peaceful time spent at Prairie Pines.

Until next year... thank you for making Lavender Daze 2026 so special. 💜
