Did you know?

The best time to harvest English lavender for culinary or crafting buds is when the flower buds are plump and showing deep color, but before most of the little flowers open! This is when the oils and their amazing scent are at their strongest.

If you want to enjoy the flowers, give the plants a trim once they look spent. Most English lavender will reward you with a second bloom!

The bees have officially arrived! 🐝

We brought in two hives just ahead of lavender bloom, and they’re slowly settling into their new home at the farm.

With all this cool weather, the bees have been taking it easy… but yesterday when the sun finally came out, they were buzzing everywhere.

In a few short weeks, these little pollinators will be busy working the lavender fields. 💜

Summer at the farm is almost here.

Did you know? Not all lavender tastes the same. If your only experience with lavender flavor was “this tastes like perfume”… you probably had the wrong lavender!

This is Royal Velvet, a culinary lavender variety we grow specifically for flavor. It’s floral, lightly sweet, and smooth instead of bitter or soapy.

Not all lavender belongs in food, and different varieties taste surprisingly different.

These buds are almost ready for harvest and will soon become the lavender we use in our farm-made syrups. 💜
