Dear Valued Customer
In June of 2006 when we opened County Discount Pharmacy we hoped to be able to provide a service to the community as well as earn an income that would allow us to raise our family. We never dreamed the store would be so successful. After 16 years of being in business we are so thankful to have been blessed to be so welcomed into such a wonderful community. We have lived and worked in various areas of this state and can honestly say there is no other place like Magazine, Logan County, Arkansas! We don’t consider you our customers but our friends. We truly and honestly care for each of you.
We have watched a lot change over the years. We have raised our children right here at work with us and they are now grown and gone. It is hard to believe how quickly time flies by. We have lost so many precious friends over the years. It is heartbreaking as we look back and remember those who were such a big part of our lives and are no longer with us. These thoughts bring the realization that much more into view that life is short and passes by quickly. It seems as though just yesterday we were in our mid twenties, filling prescriptions as our first child was sleeping in her swing at the end of the counter. And yet we blinked and she is now 27 years old, married and expecting our first grandchild. We are extremely excited with this news. But it has brought a sobering thought. Our children’s lives have passed us by in an instant. We want to savor every minute possible with our grandchildren.
That brings us to the difficult part of this letter. It has been a very difficult decision and it is with much prayer, thought, consideration, conversation and heavy hearts that we have decided to sell the pharmacy. We feel this is the best time in our lives for this decision. We have spent over 30 years working together behind the pharmacy counter. We have both aged considerably over the past few years and our bodies remind us daily that we can no longer do as we used to. While there is much reward and gratification in owning your own business, it is honestly the most stressful and trying job to be had. But we would not have changed a thing. We have so many wonderful memories to look back upon. And when we look back we pray that in some way we may have been of some benefit to your lives as you have been to ours.
We would like to ask that each of you make this transition with us over to Mediquick Pharmacy in Booneville. All of your prescriptions, refills and information will be on file and available without interruption. Robert will be on staff and looking forward to doing business with you there. We have had a very good relationship with Moses and his staff for several years and believe Mediquick will take good care of our great customers. There are the added conveniences of drive-thru and delivery service at this location as well.
We truly want to thank each and every one of you for making the past 16 years so very wonderful for us. Thank you for welcoming us into your community and into your lives. We hope to continue to be a part of and will continue to look for new ways to serve this outstanding community for many years to come. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers, as you will be in ours.
With Much Love and Appreciation
Robert & Nancy Curtis
