Hi friends - Did you know that Freewheel has moved out of the Madison Bike Center?? If you're interested in all that Freewheel does, such as bike education and repurposing donated bikes, follow us at the Madison Freewheel Bicycle Co page. We love you and don't want to lose you when we lose access to this page!

Happy Bike Week! 🚲 This week, we're celebrating the bike community of Madison.

One of Freewheel's core values is that "things are made to be reused". This principle applies not just to the bikes that find new life in our shop as someone's valued transportation, but also to Freewheel itself. It is through the solidarity of the Madison bike community, and your commitment to this value, that Freewheel is embarking on an exciting new chapter.

Today, we're delighted to announce that Free Bikes 4 Kidz Madison has generously welcomed Freewheel to host classes at their warehouse on the south side of Madison! As two Madison bicycle nonprofits with complementary missions, we're excited to learn and grow together in the months ahead. We are passionate to continue Freewheel's educational mission in this new space by bringing back classes such as Sunday Build-a-Bike, WTF (women-trans-fem) night, instructor training, pre-ride bike checks, and more.

Stay tuned for updates on class schedule and registration, and ways you can be a part of this next evolution of Freewheel. Pedal on 🙂

Thanks for your patience as we wind down our season for the year. We're hoping to run some classes here and there during the colder months, so please stay tuned!

As the season turns, we're drawing down our hours to 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. Our new schedule starts Monday the 17th.

Through October 26th, we are still running our open shop on Wednesdays, 4 PM to 7 PM. Bring your bike and any questions you have. We recommend a $5-10 donation for use of our space during these classes.

For a smooth and safe commute, we recommend bringing your bike in for a professional tune-up once a year (or whenever you have a problem with it, of course ;) )

We're open at the MBC until 6 PM today (that's Friday), but we're closed this weekend. If you need to stock up on hydration goos (or if you need a flat fix or another quick repair), stop by TODAY!
