Today we’re celebrating the incredible mothers, grandmothers, caregivers, and mother figures who fill our community with love, strength, and warmth every day.

We also want to say THANK YOU to all of our amazing customers for making this Mother’s Day so special, as we celebrate our very first Mother’s Day in our new building. Your support, encouragement, and love for CocoVaa have made this new chapter more meaningful than we could have imagined.

Our Vegan Hazelnut Rosette Bar is back this weekend for Mother’s Day — and we’re officially scaling production to make it a regular offering.

This one means a lot to us. Vegan confections still get a bad reputation because, honestly, there’s a lot of disappointing stuff out there. We wanted to make something that felt indulgent first, vegan second.

Silky vegan hazelnut caramel layered over hazelnut gianduja, all enrobed in dark chocolate. Rich, smooth, deeply nutty, and balanced.

And if we’re being honest… I need one of these about once a month, minimum. They bring me so much joy and satisfaction.

We’re open all weekend regular hours. Including on Mother’s Day.

Inspired by Pierre Hermé’s Ispahan pastry line, our Isfahan bonbon honors the Persian Damask rose—cultivated for thousands of years across Isfahan and the Persian plateau.

Rose is not just an ingredient. It is one of the oldest cultivated expressions of beauty in human civilization, grown, distilled, and written about since the earliest days of the Persian Empire.

And like the civilization that carried it forward, it endures. The Damask rose is known for its ability to thrive in harsh conditions—returning season after season, fragile in appearance but structurally resilient. In Iran, it has come to symbolize perseverance itself: beauty that refuses erasure.

We translate that lineage into flavor: a vibrant raspberry jam layered on top of a creamy lychee and rose white chocolate ganache, encased in white chocolate with a 70% dark chocolate bottom. Floral, bright, grounded.

This piece is more than flavor. It is a tribute to one of the longest continuous civilizations in human history that refuses to be erased. To something deeply maternal in its persistence—returning, restoring, enduring. We chose to launch this for Mother’s Day, as a symbol of care, of quiet strength, of love and life that continues, no matter the conditions.

This photo was an accident in 2021.

I set a cup of drinking chocolate on the counter at our old shop and walked away to grab props to stage a photo. I was about to move it, bring it into my setup, when I noticed the reflection of our logo from the sun beginning to set, hitting a decal on our exterior window then reflecting it perfectly on the surface of the warm chocolate. One inch off in either direction, or one hour earlier or later, and it wouldn’t fit centered within the rim. It was pure chance, luck, whatever you want to call it, that I put the cup in that spot at that time. So that became the picture. But it only happened because I stopped long enough to notice.

Stop in this weekend for a comforting cup of our drinking chocolate made with 72% dark chocolate from Vietnam. It’s rich so come hungry.
