“For the Love of Reading”
Do you love reading? Paperbacks, hardcovers, ebooks, audiobooks, ALL the books?
Then you are invited to join the Michigan library community and readers from all over Michigan on Tuesday, April 25 against the backdrop of our beautiful state Capitol in Lansing.
Join us for the love of reading as we express our shared love of books, libraries and bookstores and celebrate your right to read.
It’s simple to participate:

1) Gather family and friends for an afternoon excursion
2) Bring your favorite book (or books)
3) Drive to the Capitol City of Lansing
4) Take a seat on the steps of the Capitol anytime between 1:00 - 3:00pm
5) READ!

Anyone and everyone is invited to attend the
Read-In on the Capitol Steps. No registration required. Please NO signs, NO demonstrations, NO political agendas, JUST a love of reading your favorite book.
