Come in and get your signed copies!!
"His musings are still relevant in book form."
That review was on Amazon last year. I'm not sure which one of my books it was for. It just caught my eye.
Some might take it as a slight, but not Ol' TC.
I look at that sentence and think, "I might still have it."
"Still relevant" is a compliment. Backhanded, but slightly warming to my cockles, and what's wrong with that?
Recently, after an unexpected uptick in book sales, I noticed that some of you haven't written a review. You don't have to; I am not the boss of you, but it would help keep me relevant in the eyes of the Amazon Algorithm gods.
You'd find the time to rate a potatoe peeler you bought on Amazon.
*And you willl certainly will find time to point out that I spelled potato wrong in that last sentence.*
One would think you could use that same energy to drop a review of at least two of the four of my books. Heck, review all four; it helps, and you've claimed you are a helper for years.
As a matter of fact, I would wager there will be one or two comments pointing out that I misspelled potato, and you might even mention that it was the ultimate downfall of Dan Quayle's political career, and would certainly put a crimp in the career of a writer.
Ha! I say.
I can picture some agitated grammarian becoming suddenly delighted, eyes widening, when they see how I spelled potato(e), and stopping right there to rush to the comments to shine a light on the foible—reading no further. It's the little things that make people happy. Let's not steal their joy.
It helps that algorithm, too.
Not all heroes wear capes; some brag about Scrabble scores.
In any event, my books are available at many bookstores nationwide, certainly all the cool bookstores in Maine, so you don't have to buy your books from Amazon to review my books on Amazon.
In fact, Berry Vines Floral and Gift Shop in East Machias, Maine, recently let me into the back door to sign their stock of my tomes, so you can get them there—and maybe a bouquet of flowers and some chocolate for a loved one.
They were out of "The Detective in the Dooryard," but that happens a lot. I think people like to buy thicker books when they cost the same as thinner volumes. We are all about value, aren't we?
I must say, last year's "Donut Holes for the Soul" gets some great reviews; I heard Dan Quayle said it was my *bestest yet.
*No, he didn't.*
Buy a book, read the stuff here, drop a review if you find the time. And remember the plural of potato is potatoes, so the former VP wasn't all that far off the mark.
