❤️🏗️ Well... today made it feel real.

Thank you. Seriously. To everyone who came out this morning for the groundbreaking of what will eventually become our new home in downtown Luray. 🥖❤️

Standing inside that building today, watching it fill up with people, seeing the plans displayed, feeding everyone from a table sitting basically where we'll eventually be baking every day... it was a pretty surreal moment.

Nine months ago, Luray Artisan Bakery started in our house.

Today we got to stand inside approximately 4,000 square feet of what comes next.

That's CRAZY. 😂

We baked a BIG spread for this morning because obviously if you're going to invite us to a groundbreaking, we're going to feed everybody. 😋 And getting to serve our food inside the future bakery for the first time was pretty damn special.

But today was about something much bigger than LAB.

This project means new life for a building that's been sitting empty. It means a new coworking space downtown. It means approximately 28 new workforce housing apartments for people who actually live and work in this community.

There are a LOT of people and organizations working behind the scenes to make this happen, and after seeing how many hands are involved today, I have even more appreciation for what it takes to pull off something of this size.

And Brad Herman — thank you for having the vision for this building, for investing in Page County in such a meaningful way, and for finding us and deciding we belonged somewhere in that vision. ❤️

To everyone who has bought a loaf of bread, joined Bread Club, stopped at the Bread Shed, ordered a cake, shared one of our posts, told a friend about us, or simply encouraged us along the way...

you helped put us in that room today.

That's something I'll never forget.

Now the fun part starts.

We get to build a bakery. 😳😂🥖

🥖❤️ A little Bread Shed schedule change this week!

The Bread Shed is OPEN TODAY + TOMORROW (Tuesday & Wednesday) with extras from this week's Bread Club!

But we will NOT be open Friday this week.

Friday morning is the big groundbreaking ceremony for our future downtown home! 🏗️❤️ The ceremony starts at 10 AM, and we're baking a BIG spread of goodies for everyone coming out to celebrate with us.

Between getting everything ready for the groundbreaking and a bunch of custom cakes going out this weekend, we're trying to practice this thing called not biting off more than we can chew. 😂

I'd rather do everything really well than take on one more Bread Shed day and risk messing something up!

This week's Bread Shed goodies include:

🍪🏀 Page County Boys Basketball fundraising ❤️

After nearly 3x our normal pre-orders, a whole lot of baking, and seeing so many of you stop by today, we're officially closing the Bread Shed for the week!

I was excited to get 120 fresh-baked cookies made and passed them off tonight to help support the Page County Boys Basketball fundraising golf tournament tomorrow morning! 🏀⛳️🍪 Thanks Tyler Parker 😁

One of my favorite things about growing this little bakery has been getting to use what we make to support the schools, teams, organizations, fundraisers, and people that make up this community.

Thank you guys for absolutely showing UP for us today. ❤️

Now Emmitt's tapping in to clean up what looks like approximately 47 years worth of flour and dishes while I tap out to have a drink and some snacks. 😂

And apparently you guys were HUNGRY this week. 🤣
Pre-orders went absolutely crazy — almost 3X what we've had for any other Bread Shed day. 😳❤️

So please be patient with us while we pump out the most baked goods we've ever made for a Friday!
If you pre-ordered, check your invoice for your pickup time!

🥖 If you ordered earlier yesterday, your order should be ready for pickup anytime after 1 PM.

🥖 If you ordered later, I've noted 3 PM or after on your invoice. That's giving me enough time to get another whole round of cinnamon rolls baked and ready to go. 😅

I'm still seeing orders come through on the preorder form, and I'll fill whatever I can at this point — but no promises! We're baking as fast as these ovens and my brain will let us. 😂

I'll have some extras stocked in the Bread Shed for walk-ins while they last, but there's not a ton this week.

It's an absolutely beautiful day here in the Valley. ☀️⛰️ Come take a drive, grab some bread and baked goods, and enjoy it.
