The Plastic Navy had a QuickFish this morning at Wateree...caught a bunch of nice fish from 13 to 20 inches. The Admiral took the #1 spot by 1.5 inches,I finished 3rd 2.5 inches back. Not a bad day considering Wateree has been overflowing for a week.

When you're using a 1/8 oz crappie jig on 6 lb mono and a big cat decides to take your kayak for a spin. This one will fill up a SH*TI Coolers

Tough day on Saturday as the Navy headed north again to battle 62 of the Queen City's best Kayak Anglers. The rain at takeoff was the preface to what my day would be for the next 7 hours. As water dropped,I was bound and determined to flip docks and rocky points...that led to a skunk. However,Cameron adjusted and threw crankbaits on rocky points and with catching a small bass with 15 minutes to go salvaged a 9th place finish and a little cash. Once the spawn transition is over on these northern bodies,I believe the Navy will contend with these QC guys. Wylie next month could set us off. Two weeks from P*e Dee's second event and we hope to be 1 and 2 in the points when we leave Darlington...stayed tuned!

The Plastic Navy Kayak Anglers hosted the first of the monthly quick fish tournaments on lake Wateree this morning. Thru the rain and bass boat traffic,Ryan Branham came out on top,doubling up the field with Cameron Tetterton taking a respectable second. Two Santee out of towners split the big fish purse. The Navy will attempt to hold a quick fish tournament one Sunday a month if possible. Follow the page for updates and future events!

The Plastic Navy invaded Wyboo swamp last Saturday at Santee for the first event of the P*e Dee Kayak Anglers trail. I overslept and missed take off but made the most of the time I had and salvaged a 4th place finish. Cameron went deep down river and when it was all said and done finished second to a Santee Ringer. Bass were tough to come by,weren't many limits with the winner posting a 3 fish catch of 53.25. After some controversy,the big fish winner of 22.50 inches was disqualified and two guys with 19.25 split the prize. Eventful day and with the two of us in 2nd and 4th,respectively in the AOY race,every event will be crucial. Stay tuned,we fish again this weekend!

The Plastic Navy hits the road to Lake Norman tomorrow to try and out duel some of the top kayak anglers in the state of North Carolina. Hope to get a share of the Queen City prize money! First of many tournaments on our calendar this season...pics and videos to follow!

The Navy headed north to the Catawba to get one last exhibition in before tournament season starts next Saturday. Water was flowing heavily with temperatures in the 30's...not the best conditions for fishing but did make for a smooth ride through the rapids. We caught a few,the biggest being 4 lbs which was good considering 90% rain in the forecast tomorrow. Stay tuned til next weekend as the armada shoots for medals and cash in either Summerville or Murray!

The Plastic Navy made their maiden voyage of 2018 through the stumps of Santee yesterday...had to dodge a few dozen duck hunters and bass boats but caught a few and made it back safe and sound!

A slight introduction to our group...
This page was formed to help promote the sport of kayak fishing. Fishing has been a way of life for us since we could walk and through all the evolution of the sport and increased technological influence,the fact still remains there's nothing more fulfilling than the tug on the other end of the line. We have partnered to not only further the sport of kayak fishing but to share our experiences,give reviews of new products along with tips and tricks on their use all while exploring new bodies of water in the South. Our entries will be shared on the website www.paddledownsouth.com ,this page along with YouTube and Instagram. The page will be totally interactive and welcomes input,your fishing stories as well pics and videos of your kayak adventures. We plan to fish multiple trails this year including Queen City Kayak Anglers of North Carolina,P*e Dee Kayak Anglers based near Florence-Darlington SC,our mothership group Plastic Navy Kayak Anglers based in the Midlands of South Carolina while also fishing the national circuit of KBF from the New River in Virginia,several events in NC and the Santee event in SC all leading to hopes of landing in the KBF National Championship. All will be chronicled on the website and shared on the adjoining social media accounts.
