There's something about this time of year that feels different.
The days are long. The light is golden and heavy. Everything outside is fully alive and the air smells like it knows it.

We'll be at the Pollinator Market in Covington from 11am to 3pm at the corner of Hollman and MLK. Come find us there. We'll have honey, beeswax candles, and we cannot wait to see you out in the sunshine.
If you're staying close to home, the Ludlow Garden Tour is running today from 10am to 2pm. A lovely way to spend a Saturday morning right here in the neighborhood.
And Sydney is holding down 218 Elm all day from 11am to 4pm so you can always find your honey right here in Ludlow too.

Can I tell you about the vault?
218 Elm used to be a bank. The Ludlow Savings and Loan, back in the late 1800s. The vault is still there — fully intact, fully functional. And we have completely transformed it into something that has to be seen to be understood.
The entire inside is painted with a space portal mural. Overlords looking down. And in the back there is a mirror that makes the whole thing go infinite and trippy in the most beautiful way.
Inside the vault right now: chairs, a birthday book, a massive astrology book that has something to say about every single birthday and a mini piano that kids wander over and just start playing.
Our tarot reader sits in there when she visits. Reiki healers have held sessions in there.
Come in today and just sit in it for a minute. Find your birthday. Look into the mirror. Bring a friend or come by yourself.

Here's something worth knowing about the honey sitting on most grocery store shelves.
It's been pasteurized. That means it was heated to temperatures above 160 degrees Fahrenheit during processing. And here's what that heat actually does:
It destroys the natural enzymes. Studies show pasteurization can wipe out up to 90% of diastase, one of the key enzymes naturally present in honey. It degrades glucose oxidase. It strips antioxidants, vitamins, and the complex flavor compounds that make real honey taste the way it does.
What you're left with looks like honey. But it's essentially just sweet syrup.

We’re going to be at the Pollinator Market in Covington on June 20th from 11am to 3pm, right on the corner of Holmes and MLK. Olla Taqueria Gutierrez and Covington Parks & Recreation are hosting and the lineup is beautiful.
