At 20th Century Nerds, we spend a lot of time sharing the happy moments, the successes, and the amazing things we create. But sometimes you just have to laugh at yourself!
After listening to feedback and doing some learning, we've decided to upgrade the material we use for our Bag Tags and Legacy Chains..... especially after finding out that many of you like to display them in your vehicles.
Soooo, we started working on an order for Amy Wynn and, of course, began with one of our favorite designs... Stitch!
I had everything set up to print overnight. When I woke up this morning, this is what I found...

I most definitely loaded the black and blue filament backwards!
To make it even better, we recently upgraded one of our printers to produce finer details, which means it takes a lot longer to complete prints. So after 19 hours of printing, I was greeted by this masterpiece of confusion.
But hey... Stitch is Experiment 626. He can change colors, right? π€£
Running a small business isn't always sunshine, rainbows, and perfectly printed products. Sometimes it's laughing through the tears over a wasted 19-hour print. ππ
This little Stitch has officially earned a permanent place on my Wall of Shame.
For those who don't know, the Wall of Shame is where I hang all of my first drafts, test prints, and mistakes from Bag Tags and Legacy Chains. Not as a reminder of my failures, but as a reminder of how far we've come. Every mistake taught us something, every redesign made us better, and every lesson helped us grow.
So today we're sharing one of those lessons... and giving everyone a good laugh along the way! π
"Welcome to Our Perfect Chaos."
The truth is, it might be the most accurate description of our lives.
Between raising a family, running 20th Century Nerds, juggling events, printing through the night, making mistakes, fixing mistakes, and somehow still finding time to laugh along the way, our life is definitely chaos.
But it's our chaos.
It's late nights designing Legacy Chains. It's printer going off at 2 AM. It's orders stacked on the table, kids running through the house, and a wall covered in memories of projects, events, and people who mean something to us.
It's waking up to a 19-hour print and realizing you loaded the colors backwards. ππ€£
It's celebrating the wins, learning from the mistakes, and remembering that every "oops" moment helped us get where we are today.
So yes, our sign says "Welcome to Our Perfect Chaos."
And honestly? We wouldn't have it any other way. ππ
