December is a month for change on Water Street. As you already heard, Dockside Treasures will see a new owner, and Narrow Escape is making the same change. I’m excited to announce that Narrow Escape will be passing the torch in December to Maria who is fulfilling her lifelong dream of owning a business and living upstairs, just like the bygone days of small-town life. She’s not coming alone, though. She’ll be accompanied by Maxx, a tri-pawed pup who just got his cart; Penny, a low-rider bully mix; Mister Kitty, rescued by the fire department from a controlled burn; and one-eye Little Kitty - all rescues! Maria has a strong history in catering, restaurant, and even barista. You’ll find her to be extremely community-minded and an obviously an animal lover. I couldn’t have found a better person to take the reins. Maria is looking forward to immersing herself in the Lubec community, and I’m sure she will be welcomed by all. Maria will not be thrown into the deep end, though. I will be working alongside her until she’s comfortable, and then she can start putting her own stamp on things.
A huge THANK YOU to all of my wonderful customers who have made this place such a success. I’ve had the pleasure of making so many friends through the shop and look forward to continuing those friendships as a customer of Narrow Escape.
