In 2016, the first Lubbock-Con was held. It was a one day event, and we scheduled it the same weekend as the Pancake Festival in the Banquet Hall at the Civic Center because we didn't think it would be big enough to create an issue. Well, we might have been slightly wrong, and we never tried to do it alongside another event again. Over the past 10 years, Lubbock-Con has grown into a full two-day event that takes over almost the whole Civic Center, thanks to all of you!

We have decided that since we've grown so much and are turning 10 this year, we want to have a good old fashion birthday party! There will be party games, special giveaways, and of course, treats! So come join us, as we celebrate a decade of our volunteer run, non-profit, by the fans for the fans, homegrown convention!

Lubbock-Con is excited to welcome back Stormcrow Games Lubbock and their army of game demo volunteers! Every year since 2016, the Stormcrow Demo Corps has provided our attendees with a chance to try out a variety of tabletop games like Warhammer 40k, Pokémon, D&D, and more! This is a great way to dip your toes into the world of tabletop gaming, no experience required.

Of course, the Tabletop Gaming Area wouldn't be complete without the Paint & Take miniature painting station, always a fan favorite! Attendees can sit down, grab a model, and use the provided paints and brushes to create a one-of-a-kind piece. Then they can take the model home with them, all for free, thanks to our sponsor. This year, the Tabletop Gaming Area will be moving from the Exhibit Hall to the Banquet Hall, in order to give it a bit more space and allow for the addition of some tournaments. First up, Meli Grant will be tagging in for Chris! For you, APEX fans, that's still 4 members of the Apex Legends squad joining us for Lubbock-Con 2026!

Meli Grant was born and raised in New York and spent her childhood playing on stages, in scenic shops and prop houses, while her father worked in technical theatre. From the Usdan Summer Camp for the Arts to NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, her drive to tell stories has set her on a career in theatre and film, but when she discovered voice acting, she fell in love all over again.

She has appeared in numerous animated and video game titles, most notably Apex Legends as Catalyst, Dragon Ball Super as Quitela and Maji-Kayo, Fairy Tail as Dimaria Yesta, Rurouni Kensin (2023) as Kamatari, Record of Ragnarök as Zerofuku, Lego Monkie Kid as Peng, My Hero Academia as the Public Safety Commission President, and Terrain of Magical Expertise as Gamesoft.
