When choosing the right marker, the intended outcome for the piece is very important information we might need to know.

Will your piece be hung in a harshly lit environment? With lots of fluorescent lights or sunlight?

Or will your piece hang tight in a sketchbook, to be exposed a meager handful of moments for intentional photography or scanning?

If it’s the former, spring for the pigmented markers, they’re lightfast and won’t fade easily under almost any conditions. Pigmented marker work will last a lifetime!

If it’s the latter, get the dye-based markers in all their many-colored glory!!!!

Dye-based colors are easier to produce in a variety of shades and hues, while pigmented markers are for work that will last a lifetime!

Sign up now for our Christmas in July Marbling Ornaments Workshop! Saturday July 18th! Our very own Andrew Preston will be teaching this fun, hands on workshop! Each student will make 12 ornaments! Additional ornaments can be purchased to keep the fun rolling!

Today in our Hands on Art History camp, students sketched animals, including living guinea pigs, inspired by Maria Sibylla Merian. She was an incredible scientist and artist who changed the way the world understood insects. There are two more sessions in our Hands on Art History camps with Victoria Whitaker. Summer isn’t over yet!

The color that can’t be bought! Torrit Grey from Gamblin Artists Colors is always a little different in hue and shade, but is always made from excess pigment rescued from the paint making process. It’s also free with a $50 purchase of Gamblin Products (paints, mediums, knives, varnishes, primers, etc)!

Also, always available in limited quantities. So get yours while supplies last!
