Hosted by Daniel K. Isaac, this year's event also paid tribute to Frank Marshall and Danielle Pinnock. Held as a gala dinner and fundraiser, Backstage at the Geffen supports the theater's artistic, education, and community engagement programs.

moments in The Normal Heart (2014):
the dinner where Felix (Matt Bomer) and Ned (Mark Ruffalo) move from playful teasing to honesty ... the beginning of their relationship, sealed with a kiss that says more than words.
For this role, Matt lost over 35 pounds to portray Felix's illness authentically. The production even paused filming for several weeks so i could undergo the transformation ... a testament to my dedication.

Ryan Murphy's adaptation of Larry Kramer's groundbreaking play earned critical acclaim and numerous awards. the Golden Globe and Critics' Choice Award for Best Supporting Actor. a milestone in my career, and a performance still regarded as one of my finest.

Based on Larry Kramer's 1985 play, The Normal Heart portrays the early years of the HIV/AIDS crisis in New York, interweaving personal stories with urgent political activism.

Dramatic Competition. The film follows a father and son as they reconnect during a hunting trip in the mountains of Montana.

That same year, Anything premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival, with (me)Matt Bomer portraying Freda Von Rhenburg, a role that revealed a completely different side of my craft.
Both films defined my 2017, two projects that couldn't be more different in scope and spirit.
