Regulars have often asked why I rotate the window display so often and I sometimes say it’s because of sunning or it’s so people know there’s always something new coming in which are both true. I also do just enjoy looking at the mix of books that we come across, that people bring in and that otherwise find their way into the store and seeing the different ways they can fit in with another, complement each other. Sometimes it would seem there are only so many new titles being released and so many classics that are worth stocking that most independent bookshops would have similar displays. But every repository and it’s patrons, and every neighborhood bears its own subtly distinct flow of stories and information that are worth taking a moment to notice, if not record.
