It doesn’t get much more L.A. then seeing “L.A. Confidential” at the Los Angeles Theatre, unless perhaps you throw in special guest James Ellroy. Join us Saturday night, June 13th when Los Angeles Conservancy presents James Ellroy who joins us to sign his latest L.A.-centric “Red Sheet” before introducing “L.A. Confidential” in one of the most beautiful movie palaces of them all.

The gateway.
How many wander the path finding classic Hollywood because she is magical?
Transcending the art on screen & in myth.
I know my fascination began early on.
Her sexuality is an easy lure for a young man & for everyone that wants to sell the image too .
American as apple pie.
What has kept me faithful is her comedic ability coupled with that. She has such wonderful timing & reactions.
Her sincerity on film is beautiful to see.
Funny. Vulnerable. Star quality you cannot fake.
My early visits to Hollywood involved me buying “Marilyn A-Z” (at B. Dalton-formerly Pickwick), and getting anything on her I could.
Little did I know how my life as a seller of “Hollywood” would involve her.
Thank you Marilyn, as a fan & as a man who has met people from all over the world who discover the meaning of “movie star” when they see you. When they think of this place, they think of you.
Happy 100th Born Day to someone who has become synonymous with the world of Hollywood history I dwell in, Marilyn Monroe!
You are simply divine!

Should be a great night at this Friday, April 3rd when welcomes .artelgreat and kicks off their series “Comedy As Resistance” w/ a screening of the classic “Hollywood Shuffle”. Special guests Anne-Marie Johnson & Spring Mooney (daughter of Paul Mooney) will be part of the post-film Q & A as well.
We will kick off the evening with the good doctor signing copies of his book, “The Black Pack-Comedy, Race, and Resistance” at 6:30 pm with the program at 7:30 pm.
