In the spring of 1909, William "Bull" Lowell began growing what was called Indian H**p on his farm on the central coast of California. Henry J.

Finger took a dislike to Bull’s "ma*****na being smoked by the wrong kinds of people". Finger conspired to outlaw cannabis and later passed the 1913 Poison Act. Bull believed in a man’s right to smoke the dried plant and enjoy its benefits. When the stubborn Bull refused to stop growing his beloved plant, Finger shut down Bull’s farm and later threw him in jail. Today, our community of family farm

To our Lowell Farms community, we’ve been alerted to cases of fraud involving scammers who are illegally using the Lowell name. These scammers pose as Lowell Farms employees or recruiters, offering a job at our company and asking for personal information – address, social security number, etc.

This is a scam. Lowell Farms will NEVER contact you and ask for your personal information in this way. If you are contacted – via phone, email, text, or DM on social media – by someone claiming to be from Lowell Farms and asking for your personal information, do not engage and do not open any links in the message.

Instead, please forward the message to [email protected] and we will add your details to our ongoing investigation. Thank you for your assistance in keeping our community safe.
