À beautiful large folio map of the « United states of Mexico « from the Atlas Universel de Géographie Ancienne et Moderne « by Colonel Lapie. This is the second edition dated 1841. This edition has the particularity of showing is two maps with the Republic of Texas. A wonderful large folio atlas with 50 double page maps. Thank you !

A very rare volume dated 1704 titled « Nouveau Voyages… »printed by Van der Aa, the book is illustrated with the ultra rare folio map which is lacking in most copies and six engravings views including one of the first view of the Niagara Falls. California is still a very large island. This book written by father Louis Hennepin was first printed in 1697. This book relates particularly to “Nouvelle France”or New France. Father Hennepin was sent by king Louis XIV of France to explore New England, Canada all the way to the Mississippi River and further west. Father Louis Hennepin sailed with La Salle from France around 1680 and started a Catholic settlement near the upper falls of the Mississippi River. Thank you!

Beautiful first edition of the cook’s voyage in a beau French binding with the coat of arms of the Rene Jourdan de Launay last governor of the infamous Bastille prison in Paris. The Marquis de Launay was actually killed in July 1789 during the invasion of the prison by the people of Paris .
