Corporate Rock Wh**es 😋

The infamous smiley face: claimed by many, but its real origin remains unknown to this day. Many claim Kurt drew it himself, others believe it was created by Sub Pop’s first art director Lisa Orth & designer Grant Alden, while Geffen Records art director Robert Fisher claims he was the creator. Its origin is certainly a mystery, its impact is certainly no mystery though!

Towards the end of 1991 The Red Hot Chili Peppers embarked on a “tour” for the ages. The opening act, Pearl Jam had just released their debut album, Ten & their middle act Nirvana had just released Nevermind on the same day the chili peppers released their hit album Blood Sugar S*x Magik.
The short lived tour started in Los Angeles & ended prematurely on New Years Eve at San Francisco’s Cow Palace. Not much merch was made from this tour due to it being so short lived, so to have a near mint shirt from the lot is quite incredible!
