Every year at Momma Osa, we Hv been committed to donate socks to youth homeless and foster families in Los Angeles.
This year, we had the opportunity to choose between socks and financial donation due to CHC's Board of Directors and a few generous friends - all gifts to Covenant House California will be TRIPLED before midnight, December 31st...up to $100,000!
So this year, we donated cash which in turns provides the following:�
*provides meals and a hygiene kit on a youth’s first day at CHC�*provides clean outfits for a youth when they arrive with nothing but the clothes on their back
•provides safe shelter and hot meals for a young person
*Shelter, meals, career and educational support and
*medical and mental health care for the convent house residents.
For young people, many of whom have only known lives of instability and hopelessness – a home, a hot meal, stability, and a support network can change the course of their life.
The Covenant house address homelessness where it begins, in youth and young adulthood, when HOPE and possibility are still strong. Just this week, 3 young people received keys to move into their own apartments - just in time to celebrate the holidays in a home of their own!
