We made 200+ drinks in 2 hours for Senior Appreciation Night and honestly folks, we are exhausted! So, we're canceling Monday Supper Club on May 25th, Memorial Day, and will resume the following Monday.

Congratulations to all LAHS seniors and their families, and we wish everyone a happy Memorial Day!

Join us for Sweet Potato, Rosemary, and Chickpea soup from Eleanor Maidment's Pulse: Modern Recipes with Beans, Peas, and Lentils at Monday Supper Club!

Ingredients are: sweet potatoes, olive oil, mixed greens (kale, beet, chard), leeks, onions, garlic, rosemary, chickpeas and salt.

Chives, lemons and shaved parmesan optional on the side.

We are going to get through May, people, we are!

Because May affects us just like it does everyone else, we're dealing with a temporary staff shortage before the college kids come home and take over running the store.

Thursday May 7th: open 10am - 2pm, no tapioca available (we do have popping)

Friday May 8th: open 10am - 6pm, no tapioca available (we do have popping)

Saturday May 9th: open 10am - 4pm, no tapioca available (we do have popping)

Also, as a huge thank you to everyone who voted for us in the Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce awards, we will have a day of free boba for the community on Friday May 29th from 10am - 6pm or until we collapse.

Monday Supper Club's recipe is Spinach Rajma Dhal from Nitisha Patel's cookbook Dhal.

Ingredients are: pinto beans, olive oil, cumin, onion, ginger, garlic, turmeric, coriander, mild red chili, tomatoes, brown sugar, garam masala, cilantro, spinach, salt

Please note that I believe Rajma Dhal refers to kidney beans; I thought we had a sack of kidney beans but I misremembered and the closest bean we have is pinto, so pinto it is since I already bought 30 pounds of spinach.

Back by popular demand (and because the person who is allergic to corn is out of town) it's Chickpeas in Yellow Sauce for Monday Supper Club on April 27th!

Ingredients are: cumin, turmeric, mild red chilies, masa harina (corn), olive oil, onions, garlic, tomatoes, chickpeas, parsley, salt

The Mexican Vegetarian Cookbook from Phaidon is absolutely gorgeous and has vegetarian dishes broken down by subregion. This particular dish is from Queretaro. It's encyclopedic, and higher in cost than our usual cookbook ($54.95). We are currently sold out but please let us know if you would like us to special order it for you!
