Most of our social media friends already know Mary -Zelek Flower Shop’s CEO, buyer, community outreach champion, display wizard, chief problem solver, office manager, and, quite simply, the person everyone hopes to talk to when they call or stop by the shop.

Mary truly grew up in the business—in fact, many of you know that for much of her childhood, our family home was attached to the shop. After college, she returned to Lorain and, thankfully for us and for the community, made it her home. Over the years, her role at the shop steadily grew, and after our dad Pete’s passing, she stepped forward in an even bigger way, officially becoming President in the 1990s.

We are in awe of Mary’s success nurturing and growing the business through changing times and a challenging retail landscape. She carries forward the very best of both of our parents—a calm, reassuring presence with customers and a natural gift for color, design, and merchandising. Her dedication to the community is unmatched, and she gives generously of her time and talents.

She’s never one to seek the spotlight (and may not love this post!), but we couldn’t let our 75th anniversary celebration wrap up without saying a heartfelt thank you to our sister.
You’ve made Mom and Dad proud, Mary—and we couldn’t be prouder of you.

Have had lots of fun contacting our 4 raffle basket winners this week from our booth at the Lorain International Association Festival & Bazaar! Today, Cieria Ramon stopped in to pick up her "Christmas in July" basket.
