Telegraphic billiards? WTH?? The first match by telegraph was played on March 26th, 1901 between Wayman McCreery and Martin Mullin. McCreery won.

Did anyone see that? In professional Nine-Ball, it is not a foul to contact an object ball accidently, unless the game is being televised.

You asked what's on TV? The most extensively televised billiard game is snooker. It is also a major reason Straight Pool was replaced with Nine-Ball as quicker racks frequent more commentary and commercials.

Quips and Tips from Ross Billiards: If you were to enlarge a billiard ball to the equivalent circumference of the Earth, the Earth would have a smoother surface. This may explain why some of your shots are off the mark. ;)

DOUBLE UP this weeks Monday Mention.

(double-the-corner)... A shot in which the cue ball makes four cushion contacts using only two rails in the corner, that is, it hits both of the cushions in the corner twice. Required shot in artistic billiards.

(double-the rail)... A shot in which the cue ball makes three cushion contacts using only two different rails, which means that one of the cushions is hit twice. Accomplished by using reverse english so the ball returns to the first cushion after contacting the second.
