While we’re gone our bookstore will have limited hours from August 5-16.

This was a hard one to do because we have so many amazing book writing by Latina authors or highlight strong Latine MCs, but I’d need a part 2, 3, and 4 🫶🏾 Here’s a small selection of books on our shelves that showcase strong Latinas really showing up for themselves and showing up for their community from a young age. Our little ones deserve to see that they are special, they are poderosas, and they should be seen anywhere and everywhere ✊🏾

It’s been a heavy week, to say the least. This week I found myself privileged enough to have a kid-free, work-free afternoon, and I couldn’t be home due to some repairs, so I took myself on a little reading date. Immediately the phrase “joy is resistance” came to mind. It was lovely to have a moment to myself, but as a parent, I also felt the guilt of getting to hug my babies tonight, while so many fathers, mothers, and children are not getting that privilege 💔 in the last two weeks we’ve lost black and brown fathers, babies, and sons, at the hands of a system built to keep them down instead of protecting. When will it stop?
