I’m writing to share some heavy news: Adelitas has been forced to vacate our current space. A new company is taking over the lease, and we’ve been told we need to move out.
This news comes just as we were celebrating our third anniversary. A milestone that reminded us just how deeply rooted this space has become for so many of us. Customers became familia. Our storefront became more than a shop, it became a refuge, a cultural home, a site of healing and resistance.
To be honest, I’m still processing. This was sudden, and I don’t yet know what the future holds for Adelitas. After building this with so much intention, care, and corazón, it’s painful to be displaced.
But what I do know is this: this is not the time for voices like ours to go quiet. Adelitas is rooted in cultura, in healing, and that spirit cannot be evicted. We’ve created something powerful together, and that energy will carry us forward.
To our customers, vendors, collaborators, and community partners: thank you. Thank you for walking with us, building with us, and believing in this vision. Your support has carried us through so much, and I ask for that same love and solidarity now.
I’m allowing myself time to pause and reflect, to grieve and to breathe. But please know this: The Adelitas spirit is strong. And we will. Carry. On.
