In rare form, we will be closed today on a very last minute notice. I’m not sick, my car is fine but sometimes I do too much without thinking twice and today, burnout and life hit me and I’m going to sit this one down.

If you’re feeling this sentiment, here’s a reminder that there’s more to life than work and even though I’m feeling guilty, money comes and goes but life doesn’t. See y’all tomorrow, take care of yourselves ❤️

I hit up Ruben with a last minute idea to make some posters from some of these beautiful “Chicano hieroglyphics” that his new book features; they’re just too good to not hang up. Little did I know that my scanner would crash so here we are, 100% designed, scanned and printed at Kinko’s 2 hours before opening shop this morning, and these test prints came out too good.

Free for the first 10 customers who pick up a book directly from Ruben, and limited supply will be available throughout the day with 100% profits going to him. Music starts at 3 p.m. and discussions will start shortly after.

It’s not enough to simply be a record store nowadays and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Spreading music outside the crates through out LA and LBC this weekend in good company, this is what we’ve got lined up:

TONITE: plays records at starting at 9:30 p.m.

SAT May 9 : The Dreamy Side with 3 p.m.

SUN: takeover with special guest 10 am - 4 p.m.

Shop is open regular hours, dig in 📍
