Hi flower friends! There's quite a few new faces here lately so I thought I'd take a minute to introduce myself and share about this little flower business. I'm Jen the grower and designer behind Flowers on Cottonwood. We are a home based florist and backyard, micro flower farm in Lockport. May through October most blooms you see are grown right in our backyard! I grow tulips, ranunculus, anemones, zinnias, dahlias, sunflowers and so much more! My hubby helps with all the building of flower beds, moving dirt, mulch and all the other dirty work, but other than that, I'm a one woman show. During the growing season, we have a self-serve flower stand on our porch that is stocked occasionally each week. Photos are posted here and on Instagram anytime a fresh batch is added. If you don't see a post for the day that means I likely don't have anything out at the moment but feel free to reach out if you'd like something. I'm always happy to put together a few options if I'm home and have blooms available. We are at the New Lenox Farmers Market most Thursday evenings and the Lockport Trackside Farmers Market one Saturday a month this summer. I post the schedule at the beginning of each month as a pinned post so you know where to find us. In the off-season and for special events & holidays, I work with a wholesaler like a regular florist. I also supplement with wholesale blooms when our calendar is packed full during the growing season. I'm happy to help with arrangements for all of life's special events... birthdays, bridal and baby showers, school dances, etc. Feel free to reach out any time please just keep in mind in the off-season I need at least 48 hrs. notice to source blooms. Aside from flowers, I love my squishy faced pups that are sure to bark at you if you pick up flowers, coffee, bird watching, hiking, reading, Lego flowers and the mountains. Asheville, NC holds my heart. π I'll never say no to ice cream π¦and Fall is my favorite season even though it means the end of fresh flowers from the garden! ππ I'm basically a granny at heart! π
All the basic pick up info is below. Please message me with questions any time.
Location:
The flower stand is self-serve and is located on our porch at 16401 W. Cottonwood Dr, Lockport. We are in the Oak Creek subdivision off of Oak Ave. between Gougar and Farrell Rd.
Hours:
We don't have set hours at this time. I stock the stand a few times a week depending on what blooms are available and the current weather. If flowers are available there will be a post on my Facebook and Instagram page in the morning. I'm always available via messenger if you'd like something and don't see anything posted for the day.
Payments:
There is a lock box on the flower stand for cash payments. I also take Zelle or Venmo. There are QR codes on the stand to scan for those options. At markets, I also accept credit cards & Apple Pay.
Reserved items:
When flowers are posted, if there's a certain arrangement you'd like I'm happy to mark it reserved for you if I'm available. Just send a message and let me know which one you'd like. Upon arrival, if you see something you'd like more than your reserved item, that's ok! I just ask that you remove the "reserved" tag so the item is available for the next customer that stops by.
Vase return:
If you don't want to collect bud vases from every purchase, I would love for you to return them! For every 2 vases returned, please take $1 off your next purchase. No cracked or chipped vases, please. Vases can be left on the bottom shelf of the flower stand. I'm always happy to take mason jars or other vases off your hands as well!
Bloom Bar rental:
We have a few different Bloom Bar options available for rent. These are perfect for bridal and baby showers, birthdays or Girls' Nights! Message me for more info!
Thanks for being here! I hope you get to enjoy some of our blooms soon! π
