History of Lockport Vacuum:
During World War 2 Paul and Thelma LeCuyer owned an appliance store in Kankakee, IL that slowly transitioned into Kankakee Vacuum and then Kankakee Vacuum and pet!
Before Linda LeCuyer and Conrad Student got married 1959, Conrad was working for them as a Door to Door Kirby salesman and eventually grew the business in Pontiac, IL.
He purchased a retiring vacuum business off of Cass St in , IL and supported his younger brother, Victor Studer, in opening Lockport Vacuum in 1969.
In 1979, Richard Studer took over the business for is uncle, and has owned and served the community ever since. He hired a neighborhood teen, Donny, to work for him, that lead Richard to marrying his beautiful wife, Brenda, in 1993.
Richard's siblings owned an operated their own vacuum and janitorial supply businesses though out , , , and have slowly retired their own business within the last 2 years.
Over the last several years Richard and Brenda Studer were preparing to pass the family business down to Donny (43yo), however he unexpectedly passed away at the end of 2024.
During the last year, the Richard has continue to run the shop by appointment only, and was hoping to sell the store to others who were passionate about the vacuum industry.
This has been a multigenerational line come to and end. All the products for sale include products from several different family stores.
