(Zach) Hi there all.
So you’re probably wondering why I’m posting on here. “Zach, didn’t you sell out of the store?” Yup, Cara and I did back at the end of July to Timelessness Games. However, unfortunately due to a breach of agreement on Timelessness Games’ part involving not honoring the store credit on file, our agreement was nullified and Cara and I are back in ownership of the business.
Now that being said, Cara and I have moved on overall. We have jobs and don’t have plans to reopen the physical location. We will however, be moving the business side of everything entirely online for the foreseeable future. We won’t have a website directly, but we have a TCGPlayer and Mercari account, and will be hopefully adding to those in the future depending on interest and availability.
Now I want to make something very clear: We will be honoring all of the store credit on file. With the agreement nullified, all of the properties of Nerd Haven came back to us, including the store credit. And we have every intention of honoring the store credit. That said, since everything is online at the moment, if you would like to know or use your balance, please contact us either via the page, or via my email at [email protected]. And please give us a couple of weeks to straighten everything out – as we had to move everything out of the store in a hussle, we don’t have everything organized yet in a way we can easily go through it all right now.
As for events? I’ll be honest, I’m not 100% sure yet. I had plans originally to do some event running on my own anyways but those won’t be happening until further on down the line. As for local events, I will likely try to run some events, but as we don’t have our own physical location anymore, it’ll likely be dependent on venue availability, my own availability and player interest. I’ll be posting more details as I get to talk to players and see what my options are.
I wanted to also take a moment to apologize for those that were excited for the concert that was planned this last weekend by S.T.H.C. While we (Nerd Haven) didn’t have any control over the cancellation as things weren’t back in our control by that point, it still sucks that such an awesome event, with all of the effort put in by the bands, vendors and organizers ended up not happening. I can’t make any promises or details at this exact stage, but I’m looking into getting something done to make up for it that’ll be just as exciting. I’ll post more info when I have it available.
One last thing: Unfortunately due to Facebook logistics, this page will be named Timelessness Games for the time being (probably another month or so). I added Nerd Haven as a nickname so it will come up as “Timelessness Games (Nerd Haven)” and will show up even if you just search Nerd Haven. From what I understand, Timelessness will continue to operate out of our old location for the time being. However, we will not be endorsing them in any way, shape or form, nor will we be associating with them.
Thanks all, and I apologize for all of the headaches caused by this debacle. Cara and I had talked about closing a while back, but we wanted to see if we could keep the store going without us for the sake of the community as a whole. And while that project failed overall, I don’t regret trying to keep this going. And while we’ve moved on from running as a business, hopefully we can keep some of that gaming going on in one way or another locally, for all of those that just need somewhere to go and something to do.
Thanks,
Zach and Cara
