What started as just a small handful of SKUs on the shelves at H-E-B has grown into nearly two dozen SKUs on those same shelves today.

And counting…

Between our signature collections, seasonal releases, beer partnerships, private label projects, candles, lip balms, and everything else coming out of the shop, we’re sitting at nearly 100 different SKUs. 😱

And when it comes to soap alone?

Around 50 unique varieties and counting. 🤩

What started as a small soap company has evolved into something much bigger…the largest heirloom soap manufacturer in the USA. 🫡🇺🇸

Sometimes even I have to stop and think about the number. 🤯

Soapmaking is science. 👩‍🔬

But after enough batches, it becomes instinct.

One of the biggest moments in the process is when the soap comes to ‘trace’. That point where everything finally starts to emulsify, thicken, and transform into actual soap. And the crazy part is…no textbook can fully teach you what that looks or feels like in real time.

That comes from observation.
From repetition.
From ruining batches.
From standing over hot oils and lye for years watching subtle changes happen right in front of you.

I have developed an eye for it over time…learning how temperature, fragrance, humidity, oils, and even timing can completely change the behavior of a batch.

This isn’t mass-produced body wash pumped through a factory line. This is real soapmaking. Hands-on. Learned through experience.

The more you watch it…the more you understand it.
And eventually, you stop just following a recipe…
You start reading the soap.

People ask us all the time what makes Kuhdoo different.

Honestly? My nose knew before my brain did.

Before I was ever an owner… before the meetings, the strategy, the growth plans… I walked into the shop as a visitor.

And I’ve always had one rule with products, fragrances, candles, soaps, detergents, air fresheners, whatever it is:

If it irritates me, I don’t care how “clean” they claim it is. It’s a hard, “NO!”

Most people know exactly what I’m talking about.

You walk past some cheap fragrance kiosk in the mall or some artificial air freshener and immediately your sinuses tighten up, your head starts hurting, your eyes burn, you feel lightheaded, nauseous, uncomfortable.

Your body KNOWS something is off before you even think about it consciously.

That has never happened to me at Kuhdoo. Not once.

I have smelled every oil, every fragrance, every wax, every ingredient in the shop…and I have NEVER gotten headaches, NEVER gotten sinus irritation, NEVER felt dizzy, NEVER had that toxic overloaded feeling you get from low-quality synthetic garbage.

And now??? I practically LIVE here!!

12… 15… sometimes 20 hours a day in the shop. There’s literally a bed in the back. I sleep here some nights for God’s sake.

And after all this time constantly surrounded by these ingredients, I still have never had an adverse reaction.

To me, that says more than any marketing campaign ever could.

That’s the truest testament to the purity, quality, and intentionality behind what we make at Kuhdoo.

And that’s just one small part of what makes it The Best Soap on Earth.

Most people see the shelves now.
They don’t see the years before it.

Before the stores… before the growth… before thousands of bars shipped across the country… there was a tent with a hand painted Kuhdoo sign at street markets on South Congress.

Long days.
Early mornings.
Loading tables by hand.
Standing in the Texas heat hoping enough people stopped to smell a bar of soap.

No investors.
No big team.
No roadmap.

Just me showing up over and over again… betting on myself when nobody else knew the name Kuhdoo yet.

Then in 2018, the phone rang.

And if you know retail in Texas… you know getting a call from H-E-B is basically like calling your name.

Not because success magically appeared overnight… but because years of relentless work finally met opportunity.

That call didn’t build the company.

Kuhdoo was built on motherhood. 🤍

Thirteen years ago, I was laid off at 7 months pregnant with my son, Isaac. With a growing belly, and a real need to provide, Kuhdoo was born.

Motherhood makes the world go round. The care, the sacrifice, the nurturing, the showing up day after day. It’s the heartbeat behind so much of what matters. And bar by bar, so many of you mamas have helped raise Kuhdoo into what it is today. 🙏

I spent my Mother’s Day this year playing with my not so little babies 🤩

Afterwards, we walked into and saw Kuhdoo on the shelves, and had a full-circle moment that reminded me just how far this journey has come. 🧼

To every mama who lathers the people they love with Kuhdoo day in and day out, thank you! We appreciate you more than words can say. 🩷

Most people walk down the aisle and assume everything on the shelf is “soap” because it looks like soap.

But if you start paying attention, you’ll notice words like beauty bar, bath bar, or fragrance bar instead.

That’s because a lot of products people call soap…technically aren’t actually soap.

Real soap goes through a process called saponification.

That process matters.
Ingredients matter.
Formulation matters.

Just a little FYI next time you’re shopping.
