Hi all, I’m back! Sorry I haven’t posted anything about the classes! I was too busy and it’s been a blur since I got back with some family health issues.
I’m afraid I didn’t get many pictures from my students but let me share this one. I don’t think she needs any more instruction! I consider it a huge compliment when a student surpasses the instructor. Congratulations Beckie Stover

I’m here at the Texas Woodcarvers Guild Spring Roundup. I entered a couple pieces in the show that did well. I’m excited about the merit award.

I’m preparing projects for the spring and summer classes. The 1st step is turning the shape, 2nd is turning the beads, 3rd burning the radial lines, and 4th indexing the lines.
I will be in Kerrville April 18-24 teaching basket weave illusion at the Texas Woodcarvers Spring Round Up.
I will be in Creede Colorado July 11-14 teaching Basket Weave Illusion and Chip Carving at Creede Woodcarvers Rendezvous. I would love to see you there at either and of course I’m willing to schedule a private class just give me a shout!

It’s been a little crazy around here ever since Christmas. I finally got time to finish this little angel. I have had the idea for a while to put a basket weave pattern on the skirt but I haven’t had time to do it. I turned it early in January but just got around to painting her tonight. The pencil is for size reference.

I’m doing a Chip carving class this Saturday for a group of ladies from Kerrville/Austin area here at my home. I’m very excited they contacted me about this. If anyone is interested in a class and want to get some friends together I will be happy to put a class together for you.

Here is a couple of small boxes. The body of the box is walnut with a basswood carved lid. I made a couple of each for projects for my classes. It’s a fun little project.

These will be donated to Texas Woodcarvers Guild and Creede Woodcarvers Rendezvous to help raise funds for future shows and seminars. The theme for TWG this coming year is “Under The Sea”. 2026 marks the 35th year for the Creede Woodcarvers Rendezvous and as our show and classes are held inside an old silver mine, the obvious theme is mining. I hope they will be acceptable.
