We offer guided fishing trips on Southwest Montana's finest streams and rivers. We pride ourselves on our stellar customer service. Everyone who walks through our door is treated as a friend. We offer rods, reels, terminal tackle, tying materials, and some of the finest tied flies you'll ever see. Every fly is tied in house. A float down the iconic . The team did well as we battled cold temps the first few mornings, frozen wading boots were thawed out by the fire.
The sun warmed the canyon up and by day 3 we started seeing bugs hatching, and more happy fish. We ended up catching fish on streamers, nymph rigs and dries.
The Smith River is so much more than just a good trout fishery. We are lucky to be able to float a river, shut off our cell phones, and just take in the massive canyon walls for 5 days straight. God bless and our public lands that give us access to such special opportunities and places!

Great day fishing the Chironomid hatch on Merrell Lake yesterday. May can be a killer month for Stillwater fishing, as major hatches ramp up, and fish are happy and healthy from cooler water temps. Give the shop a call if you want to get out there!

Jimmy and Ev go fishing. The spring creeks in have been fishing great lately. Yesterday we fished Armstrongs and caught most of our fish on small midges under tiny dry flies. We have a lot of great locally tied patterns for the creeks, stop by and pick some up 👍

Stomach samples can teach you a lot. Clearly this fish was looking for food on the surface; beetles, adult insects, and even a couple spiders! Probably why I kept having fish come look at my bobber… One of our favorite things about fishing here at the shop is there’s always more to learn! Stop by and pick up some fliez this week!

Another great trip down to Nevada! This year we caught the majority of our fish on bobber rigs at about 9ft depth. Being willing to change that often if you aren’t getting strikes consistently. Our top chironomid patterns ranging from sizes 8-14 include: PeliWhopper, Copper Wino, Prodigy Pupa, Tiger(Rawr), Candy Apple.
We also caught a good number on the strip- mostly the chartreuse and white Boobie fly #6. Shoutout to all the awesome people we got to fish with! Thank you Pyramid, see you next year 🫡
