Jay is officially walking and it feels so good! I don't know why this particular milestone was so meaningful to me. Maybe it's because he can be more independent, or that he can tell us his desires through where he walks, or that our options for play and exploration have now opened up drastically. I think it's all this and more. He isn't our little baby boy anymore. It's so bittersweet.
Did you have a milestone in your kids lives that was super (and maybe weirdly 😅 ) meaningful to you?

Jay is turning into quite the little explorer.
We've been doing what we call a "child walk" as often as we can. We just walk and let Jay decided where we should go and what we should look at. It takes so much patience because 1. this boy is a SLOW walker and 2. he wants to touch all the things. Some days I just do not have enough patience for all that, but I love seeing the world through his eyes and he loves having the independence. So, we child walk.
What is your kiddos favorite activity? Are they the slow explorer type or the see it all as quickly as possible type?

Happy 2021! Anyone else feel like we were never going to get here? Some great things happened in 2020, along with some devastating things. Heck, Studio Boan was relaunched in 2020! It was a wild year, and one i'm happy to have behind me.
I'm feeling hopeful for 2021. The future is bright for our little family - Gabe, Jay and I & Studio Boan. This year I want to work more on family/work balance - not a new years resolution, just a desire. Starting a business is hard but I don't want to miss this valuable time my family while doing so.

Today on the blog I am letting you in on everything we've learned in our cloth diaper journey. We'll be going over diapers, wipes, wet bags, laundry detergent, our wash routine, and a lot more.
I get asked often about cloth diapers. We love cloth diapering! It's a simple way to significantly reduce our waste. It is definitely more work than disposables and 100% not for everyone (and that's okay!), but it's one way we are choosing to live more sustainably.
I always want to project an air of grace on this platform. Whatever sustainable route you choose should be one that you can keep up with long-term. Yes, choosing to make sustainable choices usually takes more work - and it's a work worth doing - but it shouldn't burn you out.
Go slow, do what you can and give yourself grace. Much love, my friends.

It's Christmas week! As a small business that's just getting started, i've gone back and forth over if we should stay open through the holidays or take a break.
I've decided that we are going to take a break. The website will be closed from December 24th - January 1st. We will still be on social media through the holidays but we will be much less active. It's been a difficult year for so many reasons and it's time to step back, and enjoy a few slower and quieter days.
We have big plans for 2021, and I'm excited to take this time to rest and prepare our minds and bodies for the work that's to be done soon.
I hope you all have a wonderful holiday and enjoy some slower and quieter moments for yourselves.
