For 8+ years and counting, our little business has followed one simple thread: sharing the passions that live outside the cow-and-horse world we grew up in — which is exactly why we became “Beyond the Barnyard.” Woodworking and cut flowers might seem like an unlikely pair, but somehow, they’ve always fit together.
There was Josh, building lanterns and backdrops for weddings, whimsical scalloped workbenches for the garden shed, and — a few years back — our very first greenhouse, adorned like something out of a storybook.
Then I wandered into weddings as a floral designer, never imagining how far it would carry us. What began as a daydream — a tiny flower farm — has blossomed into something far bigger than we ever planned. And now, we get to share the next chapter, the very reason we fell in love with this property in the first place.
Welcome to the beginning of The Greenhouse at Beyond the Barnyard, arriving summer of 2027. It’s Josh’s second greenhouse build, but this time, on a grander scale. Every inch designed, gathered, and built with our own hands, nestled deep among the trees and ferns of our little forest. A space made for ceremonies, elopements, quiet vows, gatherings, workshops, photography, and everything in between. A place where weddings can slow back down — where intention and intimacy replace the rush.
Imagine saying “I do” wrapped in nature, surrounded by the people you love most, with our beautiful gardens etching out the way and the forest standing witness. We can’t wait to welcome you into our little pocket of magic
