Zooming in on Landscapes
Gallery Jupiter and landscape artist Christie Scheele are hosting a Zoom talk—with an extra!
Christie Scheele’s current exhibition, “The Immersive Landscape,” at Gallery Jupiter through June 30, 2026, features nearly 50 pieces in oil on linen, oil on board in vintage boxes and trays, and oil on paper with natural foraged items composed on vintage blackboards.
This conversation with Ms. Scheele will explore how minimalism, an open vista, and mood in the landscape are created through color and composition, paint application, and time spent in nature. Scheele’s attachment to the natural world is expressed both in her work and in an eco-activist publishing project, the Ecoaction Card Deck, soon to be launched.
Finally, expanding on the green theme, Ms. Scheele will demonstrate how to mix a simple palette of greens using Prussian Blue, Yellow, Black, and White. She will field audience questions at the end of the demo.
Ms. Scheele holds a BFA in Painting from the School of Art and Design of the NYS College of Ceramics at Alfred University, Alfred, NY. She also studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Art of San Fernando and the University Complutense of Madrid, Madrid, Spain.
The call will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. Please email [email protected] for the Zoom link.
