It doesn’t feel right to breeze through this weekend without taking a moment to soberly pause and reflect. Here at Olde Brick, we are big on the ideas of home, of family, of stories, of tradition… We acknowledge that these lovely ideals don’t come without a cost. They are built on the shoulders of the men and women who have defended our freedom, sometimes with their lives. Their stories stopped, so ours could be written. Their homes and families ravaged so we could safely tuck our babies into their beds every night. What an unspeakable gift. We are truly humbled and so very grateful. 🇺🇸

The Collinwood shade is quickly becoming a favorite around here. Partly because she’s a showstopper (obviously 😏), but maybe also because we are nostalgic for things in our home that tell a story. It’s the hand me down mug with a chip in the handle, it’s the soft wood of our dining table where the indentation of our kids’ long division homework is still evident, years later. It’s the thrifted version instead of the mass-produced knockoff. It’s knowing the people making your stuff, verses the transactional nature of mindless online shopping. It’s knowing the story of Haley, our real life neighbor here in who makes all our porcelain shades by hand, including our new Collinwood. You aren’t feeding a corporate machine when you’re buying from Olde Brick; you’re feeding our families.
