Hi, guys! So good to see you!👋🏾☺️
This book. Oh my gosh, this book!!!
I randomly stumbled across Eliza and Her Monsters on Amazon and was instantly intrigued by the trope—a shy, quiet, teenaged girl, struggling to reconcile her digital persona as LadyConstellation, anonymous creator of a wildly successful online comic called Monstrous Sea, with her offline life. The internet, its stronghold on society and the consequences that come with it, is something I can talk about for hoursssss so I was very interested in this.
This book has so much depth around creative expression, mental health, falling in love for the first time, discovering your voice and your self worth.
And the writing is just beautiful, with words that arrest and liberate at the same time. 😩
I flew through this so fast. Even with all of its depth, it felt cozy and nostalgic. Like the type of book that keeps you up at night with a flash light under the covers. The type of book that makes a home in your heart with characters that linger and nestle into your skin. Characters you want to root for because many of us are Eliza, have been Eliza, or know an Eliza personally. This book had me in the bathroom crying tears of joy at 5am this morning. I didn’t think a young adult book would wreck me like this 🤣😭.
This is the type of story that validates my passion for literature and I’m happy to say it’s my new favorite. Totally a 5 star read! Highly recommend! If you read it, let me know! ☺️❤️
BTW, I’ve added it to our Bookshop.Org affiliate site so you can purchase from us if you’d like. Link in bio! ☺️
