June is a critical month for tomato maintenance! Put in the work now and your BLTs will thank you later.

🍅 Focus on establishing sturdy supports like cages or trellises before your plants get too heavy, and don't forget to prune suckers and any yellow or soil-touching leaves to keep your plants healthy and productive.

💦 Water deeply at the root zone 1–2 times per week to encourage strong downward root growth, and keep that moisture consistent as irregular watering is the #1 trigger for blossom end rot.

🪴 Growing in containers? You'll want to feed every 2–3 weeks since nutrients flush out faster in pots. For in-ground plants, a phosphorus-rich fertilizer now will encourage heavy flowering and fruiting all season long.

A little attention now means a whole lot of 'maters later. Drop a 🍅 in the comments if you're growing tomatoes this year, and follow along for more seasonal gardening tips all summer long!

See what's blooming at Lang's 🌞

Daylilies 🌼 technically each bloom only lasts a day, but don't let that fool you; a well-established plant can have dozens of buds in the queue. Deadhead spent blooms daily to keep the show going, and divide crowded clumps every few years for more & more blooms.

Zinnias 🌺 these summer beauts are true pick-me's - the more you cut, the more they bloom. Snip stems just above a leaf node and keep them watered at the base (wet foliage invites powdery mildew). Full sun for full color all summer.

Spiderwort 💜 blooming now with those dreamy purple petals. It will naturally slow down in summer heat, but if you cut back by half after the first flush and it'll rebound with fresh blooms in fall.
