We are 3rd, 4th & 5th generation Swedish immigrants, who live and work In Lindstrom and the Chisago Lakes Area. Having owned a building in the heart of Lindstrom for many years, we responded to our visitors’ requests to bring more retail and S

Are you ready for Sweden's National Day? The National Day of Sweden (formerly known as Flag Day) is on Saturday, June 6th and is a publicly observed holiday in the country. The National Day of Sweden is observed on this date because of two important moments in Sweden's History: The election of King Gustav Vasa on June 6, 1523 which gave Sweden independence from the Kalmar Union, and the adoption of a new constitution on June 6, 1809.
The day was originally celebrated as "Flag Day" to celebrate Sweden's new flag after dissolving the union with Norway in 1905, and was renamed to National Day of Sweden in 1983.
