So... Etsy really hasn't worked out, for me, I'm too small of a producer (*something about Etsy's algorithm not putting anything into your store until you have 50 items listed), they pushed really hard to sell with free shipping (*which either has to be written into the price and absorbed by the customer, or it eats a huge chunk of the very small profit I stand to make off each board - shipping and handling is expensive), they take another chunk to process the sale (*which is the only option both the buyer and seller have - no PayPal or other outside transfer of funds), and I generated about 55% of the very low number of page views I got over the last 6 months anyways...

This one is going out as a complete set-up, it's a youth sized (28" x 7 1/4") popsicle deck, carbon fiber core, with black trucks and wheels on a Hugger orange with Mustang pony stripes graphic package.

Another work in progress - now we're talking surf style! It's 42" long, almost a foot wide, classic Malibu or "fun board...

Another work in progress - now we're talking surf style!
It's 42" long, almost a foot wide, classic Malibu or "fun board" shaped. I decided to do a wood line down the center, like the runner in a surfboard, and it will get a pair of stripes on either side, top and bottom, probably the robin's egg blue. The top is concave, and it has an extra strip of carbon fiber down the middle to give it some additional longitudinal strength.
I really want to set it up and ride it, but the rule is "If you ride it you own it" and as much as I'd love to keep it, that's not what I'm building them for. 😉

I'm really loving this Lucid spray on grip, the graphics come through very well, making it look so much better than the standard black grip tape, and it feels really nice and grippy

Here's where I'm going...
The two cruisers are the SS graphics boards I recently finished, the pintail is in progress - it'll be hugger orange with Mustang pony-stripes, and the winged swallowtail will be white with dark blue Ford Racing stripes.
You can see the epoxy topcoat these get before paint, that adds some strength and durability.

This is how it started...
When I was going to Skagit Valley College I walked to and from school, so I reached out to Sal Noeldner to see if his son Cedar might have an extra skateboard I could paddle to and from school - and he did - I rode that board around until it fell apart. I loved the old school shape and size, so I got to the point where I wanted to replace it. I love making things myself. I had been tracking the dropping price of carbon fiber cloth, and epoxy resins, so I took a leap. I did some YouTubing, came up with a plan for a very basic press, and squished some materials into these... the one on the left is a replica of the board Cedar gave me, the OG Cruiser, then there's a surf-style board inspired by a deck I had been given by Charlie Cohan when I worked at Ride-On in Seattle, and the last one is based off the designs I made back in the day when the downhill skating scene was hot (a Gravity 380 - G38, as I'm calling them now).
I enjoy making them, and I had to buy a fairly large amount of materials to cost effectively build a cruiser and a longboard for me, so I decided to try and sell some... and the rest as they say is history
