George's Friendly Auto Service is our most treasured business in Lincoln. I took my previous car there and they did a fantastic job. Here's the really neat thing about George's, I was out working across the street from them today and they saw my work van pulled up in front of a house across the street. I was perfectly fine with the vehicle being there, but they were mindful enough to come over and apologized for being behind my van. If I had needed it moved, they wouldn't have made me ask. That's small-town character. Guarantee you're not gonna have that happen in the city. I am sure that based on the 279 five-star reviews on Google alone, that these guys will treat you honestly and with integrity. Go try them out next time you need anything fixed or maintenance on your car or truck.

Dr. Razz Smoke shop eagerly contributed to the summer pressure washing effort downtown. I think it was so kind of them to support our local youth. If you enjoy a vice or two, here are some great reasons to go. They have lots of great specialized products so you will definitely find your brand. You can get everything you need for a nostalgic walk down memory lane with some friends and a ho**ah with the best Sh**ha in town. If you're trying to quit smoking, there's lots of great options for that too. Mostly though, the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. If you’re looking for a smoke shop, look no farther.

Back to Life Auto Inc. is a smog station. They have been a gem in our community for over 30 years. Head on over, no appointment is necessary! I took our car in just today for smog and registration. I highly recommend them. They were fast too! They can also handle all your DMV registration for tags and transfers. I prefer this local business because we didn't have to wait in line at DMV.

Sierra Hills Framing is a great local downtown business. They contributed to the pressure washing effort which I thought was very classy. ✌️

Jessica's Accelerated Bootcamp is group training that focuses on a healthy lifestyle & the entire body in oldtown Lincoln. You should definitely go check it out. They have lots of personal growth and family fitness exercises.

Did you know: this lot was originally occupied by the Crowders confectionery. The entire block was consumed by fire in 1894. The present structure was built around 1915 as a blacksmith shop. The emblems and brick were provided by Gladding McBean in the 1950s. It was a combination barbershop, pool room, and saloon in the early 1960s it was briefly a topless bar. From 1975 to 2010. It was to rush auto parts.

Here’s the problem that I’m running into with hometown highlights. In order to take pictures inside each of these businesses, I need to ask the owners for permission. To coordinate something like that for every business downtown is a huge time commitment. I think I am going to change the plan a little bit and focus on things that I can do for the businesses without having to get tied up in getting permission and stuff. 

Instead, I’ll be a secret shopper for y’all and describe all the reasons I think you should go in there. I will tell you how to get there too with the maps. When I can get photos inside, I will. 👍
