Dear family, friends, neighbors, and supporters,

After 14 wonderful years, cgsmusic will be closing. Our last day open will be December 31st. This is bittersweet for all of us. As much as we love and appreciate this community, it is time for us to retire. As many of you are aware, Bob's health has been a major factor in this decision. Our family wants these last few months here at cgsmusic to be a celebration of what he has accomplished rather than what he no longer can.

Starting today, we will not accept new repairs or consignments. If you're currently renting an instrument from us, then that instrument is now yours to keep, donate, or sell. If you have an instrument at the store, please contact us as soon as possible.

All merchandise will be 25% off, applied at checkout.

Our new store hours are Tuesday - Friday 10:00am - 6:00pm, Saturday & Sunday 10:00am - 4:00pm. The store will be closed on Mondays.

It has been a delight working with everyone throughout the years. We truly appreciate your support.

Check out this Charongo getting some new strings today! A Charongo is a small Andean stringed instrument of the lute family. It is on loan to our store from Oscar Rios Pohirieth, a professional musician who has performed throughout Mexico, Europe and the United States. Oscar is now a traveling and teaching artist through the Nebraska Arts Council. We have several of his instruments on display in our museum at the store. Oscar played this Charango for many years with the band K**i Taki, Folk Music of the Andes. This afternoon, Oscar’s Charongo is taking a field trip to the NMEA All-State expo at the Embassy Suites downtown where we will have a booth set up with several interesting items on display. Be sure to stop by and check it out.
