This week's task: pine cone eviction. Like giving flowers a haircut and trimming tomato plants, it's all about helping our trees put their energy into growing big and strong, not into making more pine cones.

Everyday, we remember those who serve and who sacrificed their lives for our freedom.
Today, we take extra time to honor them.

While Christmas trees are our favorite, we canโ€™t turn down the chance to tap a nice maple tree!

Our son & grandson tapped their trees too, so today, John is making the rounds picking up the buckets of sap and taking them back to the sugar shack. There, he cooks up small batch maple syrup thatโ€™s drizzled on our pancakes & used in baked goods all year around.

A few fun facts:

Did you know the sap was clear?
Did you know that maple syrup can be used in place of granulated sugar in most recipes using a 3/4 cup maple syrup to 1 cup sugar as a more natural, healthier sweetener.

Record breaker alert ๐Ÿšจ ๐Ÿ””

67 days!

This tree went home with its family the day after Thanksgiving. It was drinking water and holding needles so well, that they kept it up after Christmas and just took it down today.

Thanks for sharing your photos
& memories with us!!

Remember that rock that we found after one of you hid it on the tree farm this year?

Owners John & Shelly took it Key West with them and hid it. And itโ€™s been found!

Q: Why are Christmas trees bad at knitting?

A: Theyโ€™re always dropping their needles.

๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ„

If youโ€™ve had your tree up since Thanksgiving and those needles are droppingโ€ฆlet us help you!

You can bring your tree back to us and weโ€™ll recycle it. Even though the sign says January, weโ€™re ready for your tree whenever youโ€™re done with it! Just drop it off by the sign.

How do we recycle it: We mulch the trees up and put it around our living trees. The mulched trees act as fertilizer and put nitrogen back into the soil. This natural life cycle helps produce healthy trees for future years.
