Apparently Mother Nature decided we needed the Midlake Madness experience today. 😂

🌦️ Weather forecast: spits of rain
🌡️ High of 85°
🎢 Roller coaster: already operational in our heads

We’ve been OPEN since 6a and we’ve had plenty of “Looky Lou’s” cruising around, that has stopped in the past few days, checking out the lake 👀

If you’ve been out sightseeing, DROP YOUR LAKE PHOTOS IN THE COMMENTS! 📸🌊
So others can see what you’ve been seeing!

🍻 Tavern crew today:
👉 Allison opens at 11a
👉 Evan rolls in at Noon
👉 Sarah & Nicole take over at 5p until closing

So whether you’re here for the lake, the food, the drinks, the views… or just to stare at the weather app every 12 minutes…

COME RIDE THE MIDLAKE MADNESS! 🎢😂

At this point, we’ve stopped asking “Is it going to rain?” and started asking “Does anybody know how to build an ark?” 😂🚤

TJ, of course, has been here since the butt crack of dawn because apparently he enjoys being the first person to witness Mother Nature’s latest meltdown. 🤣

Sarah opens the Tavern @ 11a
According to Sarah, flip flops are no longer just footwear… they’re a full-time job. 😂

Allison @ 4p
And Allison has officially decided that rain isn’t weather anymore… it’s a LIFESTYLE. 🌧️😂
Honestly, at this point, she might as well put “professional puddle dweller” on her résumé.

🍻 Evan & Nicole @ 5p
They’ll be joining the crew just in time to help keep everyone hydrated… because apparently the sky isn’t doing a good enough job of that. 🤣

🍔 Kitchen closes @ 9p
🍺 Tavern closes @ 11p

So come hang out with us, dry off, grab a cold drink, and complain about the rain with people who are just as over it as you are. 😂

Because we may not be able to control the weather…

…but we CAN control the pour. 🍻😎

Jay’s Midlake — where apparently “rainy season” has become a permanent lifestyle choice. 🌧️🤣

🌧️ WELL… AT LEAST THE RAIN IS SUPPOSED TO QUIT. 😂

The rain is supposed to wrap it up around 10a, but apparently Mother Nature has plans to keep things cloudy all day. 🙄

High of 85° today, so hopefully that sunshine-ish warmth helps dry up some of this EXCESSIVE rain we’ve been collecting lately. Because at this point, we’re pretty sure we could start stocking minnows in the parking lot. 🐟😂

Meanwhile, TJ has been here since 6a… because apparently some people are just naturally awake before the rest of us have even located our coffee. ☕🤣

🍻 Allison opens the Tavern @ 11a
🍹 Sarah rolls in @ 4p
🍺 Evan & Nicole @ 5p

And then there’s Jay…

Apparently Jay decided the best way to deal with all this rain was to abandon adulthood entirely and go play on the swings. 🤦‍♀️😂

So if you see him flying through the air today… NO, HE DOES NOT NEED HELP.
He’s just Jay. 🤷‍♀️🤣

Come see us, dry off, grab something cold and let us pretend we have our lives together. 😎🍻

Jay’s Midlake — where apparently even the owner needs recess. 😂

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Louisville District is closely monitoring Brookville Lake following significant rainfall across the watershed over the past 48 hours.

👍The good news: Brookville Lake still has available flood storage capacity, and the dam is operating as designed. There are currently no dam safety concerns. Our staff are onsite conducting daily inspections and monitoring conditions.

As of Aug. 13 at 6 a.m., Brookville Lake's elevation was 757.52 feet. As of this morning, the pool is estimated to peak around 761 feet based on rainfall that has already occurred and potentially increasing outflows over the weekend. The additional 1-1.75 inches of rainfall forecasted across the watershed from today through Sunday could impact our ability to increase outflows and the estimated peak elevation.

USACE will maintain releases of approximately 100 cubic feet per second (cfs) while downstream river levels remain elevated. Based on current NOAA forecasts, the river downstream of the dam is expected to peak and begin falling overnight. Once conditions allow, USACE will increase releases.

We will continue to closely monitor the lake, dam and downstream conditions and provide updates if anything changes.

For current lake levels and additional information, visit the Louisville District's lake information page: https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/7035f76be09b4fe3aff268ccdf472c8a =id%3AdataSource_1-196d9f51c04-layer-7%3A14

🌊 NOPE… JAY’S MIDLAKE DIDN’T TURN INTO A LAKE! 😂

We know there’s been a LOT of flooding in the surrounding areas, so please use your best judgment and stay home if the roads aren’t safe for you. ❤️

But if you’re able to get out safely… WE’RE HERE! 😉🍻

🐟 TJ has been holding down the fort since 6a
🍺 Sarah opens the Tavern at 11a
🍻 At 5p, Allison & Nicole take over and keep the good times rolling!

Kitchen closes @ 8p - Tavern @ 9p

So… if it’s safe for you to make the trip, come see us!
We’d love to see your smiling faces!

And if you need to stay home today… we totally understand.
The water can be dramatic enough without adding you to the adventure! 😂🌊

STAY SAFE, EVERYONE! ❤️
