A Bittersweet “See You Later” ❤️
We planned to close this location of the Trading Post today.. but our Casey County family showed up and showed out! By Wednesday of this week almost all the items left went to new homes. The word spread, and our community poured in with hugs, laughter, and left with armloads of treasures. Because of you, nearly everything found a new home with families who will love and cherish them. The shelves at this location may be empty but the heart of the Trading Post, that Sandy Tucker started long ago, still lives on! THANK YOU!
Here are some heartfelt memories from the staff that made this place so special!
Charity worked here for 2 1/2 years. She says that with as been a big community that brought smiles, built lifelong relationships, taught life lessons, and reconnected old friends and family. It even gave her dreams of opening something similar one day.
Barbara worked here for 1 1/2 years. She mentioned that her co-workers became lifelong family. The atmosphere and customers taught her to go with the flow and make the best of any situation.
Ashley worked here for 3 1/2 years. She said she will miss the laughs, memories, meeting people, her regulars…everything about it she will miss!
And finally our sweet Rita, who has dedicated her time and heart here for 23 years mentions that this was her second home. She watched babies grow up and become parents. She mentions that working for Jerry Tucker was a blessing! It taught her patience, kindness, and not to judge. She noticed that many people came daily because it was more than finding new treasures…it felt like home for many!
This location may have come to a close…
But the dream isn’t dying…it’s just moving.
With God’s help, we believe The Trading Post will rise again in a new location when the timing is right.
The mission of turning donated blessings into real help, of neighbors looking out for neighbors, will continue.
We are closed until further notice, but stay tuned…we’ll share updates as we seek the next chapter.
Important note: We are still gladly accepting donations at our Galilean Headquarters
712 S Fork Church Rd, Liberty, KY 42539
Liberty, you’ve been family to us. We love you, we’re grateful every single day, and we’re already praying for the day that we can flip the “OPEN” sign again… somewhere new, but still right here at home with you.
With all our love and deepest gratitude,
The Trading Post and Galilean Family ❤️
