The USS Cleveland arrived today in the Buckeye State. USS Cleveland (LCS 31) is a Freedom-class littoral combat ship that will officially enter active service next Saturday, May 16, at North Coast Yard just north of Huntington Bank Field in Cleveland.

It's also the first ever Navy warship to be commissioned in Ohio.

162 years ago today was the start of the bloodiest battle in Civil War and US military history, The Battle of Gettysburg. Some 50,000 casualties in just 3 days of battle. Been a few years since I was there and itching to get back again.
