Hi, friends! Have you read this magical (adult) book? This is How it Always is, by Laurie Frankel, is the story of 5 year old Claude, who wants to be a girl when he grows up. It’s also a story about Rosie and Penn, and the rest of their large family as they figure out all the things. I loved their complicated, messy, brilliant family and didn’t want it to end! Come grab a copy and let’s chat about it ❤️❤️

End of summer story forage reminders!

1) you do NOT have to have read a certain amount of books to get a free popsicle! All participants get one! ❤️

2) free popsicles will available through the Tuesday the 11th, after that they may not be guaranteed! If you come by after the 11th let us know and we’ll see what’s in stock :)

3) don’t forget to fill in your field guide for any books you read over the summer and come by for your discounts (even if you don’t finish all 20 books, you still get a 10% off discount at 5, 10 and 15 books!)

4) 10% off discounts need to be used in store by August 31!

5) if you make it to 20 books and you get a free book up to $10 (or $10 off a book)!

6) free book needs to be claimed by December 31!

Hi friends! What are Wildlings & Friends monthly mess-arounds? We are teaming up with some of our favorite peeps around town who are doing lovely things and bringing you something special each month!

There’s always a book, plus something cool from our friends that goes with it. Our August mess-around is with Sav’s Garden🐞🌾KY Grown + Sustainable Cut Flowers and includes a fab bouquet plus a choice from two glorious books celebrating the natural world.

Orders for monthly mess-arounds are open on our website, and will typically have a specific pick up date OR event date (stay tuned for September, it’s gonna be fun! 👀❤️)

We also have a monthly mini me selection that comes with an adult book and a kid book bundled with a special price, plus book clubs for kids and adults, all the details on our website!

Thank you so much for all who came out for the return of Saturday story time!!! And thank you to Mrs. Walker, Principal of Ashland Eagles for reading two very special books (School’s First Day of School by Adam Rex and Christian Robinson, and The Pigeon HAS to Go to School by Mo Willems); excellent choices as we head back into a new school year ❤️❤️❤️

NOTE: beginning September 5, we will be starting a new Saturday schedule with story time on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays! Here’s our August schedule:

Aug 15: no story time
Aug 22: no story time (porch fest day!)
Aug 29: 10:30 story time & anniversary event!
Sept 5: 10:30 story time
Sept 19: 10:30 story time

A little bit of magic happened yesterday in our corner of the world! We put out some string lights above our lovely patio (thank you Matt ❤️), had the perfect weather, and hosted our first Weirdlings book club all in one glorious day. Thank you so much to those who spent some time talking about The Hounding, it was a brilliant and weird and wonderful discussion! Some theories I’ve not gotten over quite yet 😂👀 (looking at you, crystal )

Hi, friends! The Story Rug, by Phoebe Wahl and Sophie Blackall landed in our shop last week! I’ve been looking forward to it and it’s as wonderful as I’d hoped it would be!

My girls immediately wondered when we would make our own rug and I think that’s a grand idea. Of course I’ve got my heart set making one as part of a bookshop class/club but as I’ve never made a rug before we’re going to practice a little and see how it goes first 😂❤️🍄

We have lots of copies in the shop, come see us!
