We’re so excited to welcome Donna Chisum to the Wandering Shire Book Market on September 12th! Donna has been a lifelong lover of words, reading, and writing, and becoming a published children’s book author is a dream she’s carried with her for as long as she can remember. Her journey is a wonderful reminder that dreams don’t have an expiration date. Donna actually submitted a story to a children’s magazine way back in the 1980s. It was rejected—and, as Donna herself admits, it truly should have been! But she didn’t give up on the dream. Forty years later, at 63 years old, Donna published her first children’s book, Grayface & Wigglebutt. And that first book became four! Her books are now available through retailers as well as the Carolina Authors Collection at the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library—a particularly meaningful full-circle moment for someone who spent her childhood making weekly trips to the library. And Donna doesn’t stop at children’s books! She also creates greeting cards featuring her original poetry, crafted to touch the heart. Her story is one we absolutely love: It’s never too late to follow a dream. Come meet Donna, browse her books and poetry cards, and hear more about the journey that took her from a rejected story in the ‘80s to seeing her own books on library shelves. 📅 September 12th ⏰ 10 AM–4 PM 📍 BeKind Coffee Co. 🌿 Wandering Shire Book Market ✨ FREE • Family Friendly • All Are Welcome Bring your fellowship, grab a coffee, and come discover a few new stories to take home.
